Eid Lamb - Qurbani
At the time of Eid al-Adha it is sunnah (wajib according to Imam Abu Hanifa) to offer a sacrifice, known as a Qurbani. This is a well established sunnah and one still practised to this day across the Muslim world.
A few of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) hadith on this matter include:
"The son of Adam does not do any action on the day of Qurbani which is more pleasing to Allah than the sacrifice of animals; and he will come on the day of Qiyamah with it's hairs, horns and hooves (for reward); and the blood (of the sacrificed animal) certainly reaches Allah before it falls down to the ground. So make yourselves purified therewith."
In another the companions asked, "Oh! Messenger of Allah, what is this sacrifice?" He said, "The way of your forefather (Prophet) Ibrahim (alaihis salaam)." They said, "What is for us therein, O! Messenger of Allah?" He said, "There is one reward for every hair." They said, "For wool, O! Messenger of Allah?" He said, "There is one reward for every strand of wool!"
Qurbani in the UK
Unfortunately in the UK, due to laws and social norms, it is not possible to follow this great sunnah properly. Instead of the Qurbani many people will generally buy some lamb from a butcher or through a charity donate an animal abroad.
We can now offer customers the unique privilege of carrying out the Qurbani as it was meant. Through accepting your trust we carry out the Qurbani on your behalf, ensuring your organic lamb is slaughtered specifically for you in order that the reward is passed to you. On top of that you receive your animal via courier having been sympathetically butchered and in convenient cuts ready for cooking and also for distribution to the poor.
How to Order your Organic Lamb for Eid
In the run up to Eid al-Adha we will be very busy. We keep to the requirements of fiqh and only carry out the slaughter in the allowed time period, i.e. from the time after the Eid prayer and within the three days following Eid.
This means you need to get your order in early to guarantee your lamb for the Eid period. For Eid 2008 we shall announce the cut off date two months in advance.

Costs
> Certified organic lamb is charged at £143 per lamb
> Naturally-reared lamb is £100
(For larger orders discounts are available).
We will need the proper details to ensure we make the correct intention for you when slaughtering. Your organic lamb is also butchered according to your requirements and then sent to you in a state-of-the-art thermal box for next day delivery. Delivery costs are £10 per lamb.
